The formation process of the 18th Mechanized Division, the structure, the tasks and the strategic importance.

Celem niniejszej pracy dyplomowej jest przedstawienie procesu formowania 18 Dywizji Zmechanizowanej im. gen. dyw. Tadeusza Buka, jako związku taktycznego Wojska Polskiego opartego na nowym modelu struktury w Siłach Zbrojnych RP oraz analizy potencjalnego wpływu na bezpieczeństwo państwa i znaczenia strategicznego w tym rejonie. Analiza dokonana została na podstawie zawartych w pracy informacji, odnoszących się do wielu płaszczyzn i zagadnień związanych z funkcjonowaniem sił zbrojnych. Przyczyny utworzenia nowej dywizji na wschodzie państwa, zagrożenia oraz motywacje podjęcia takiej decyzji . Przedstawienie struktury nowego związku taktycznego z wyróżnieniem oddziałów, pododdziałów już istniejących jak i będących w trakcie formowania a także ich charakterystyki i uzbrojenia. Celów i zadań stawianych przed Wojskiem Polskim oraz 18 Dywizją Zmechanizowaną jako częścią Sił Zbrojnych RP z zakresu wypełniania obowiązków na terenie państwa jak i w ramach współpracy międzynarodowej. Perspektywę rozwoju nowej dywizji oraz związane z tym plany rozbudowy i modernizacji Wojska Polskiego jak również problemy oraz wady a także zagrożenia wynikające z podejmowanych decyzji. Część opisowa oparta została w głównej mierze na źródłach internetowych z racji wciąż trwającego procesu tworzenia związku taktycznego oraz dostępną bibliografię, artykuły naukowe i dokumenty udostępnione przez rząd Rzeczpospolitej Polskiej. Celem pracy jest, przy pomocy części opisowej, dokonanie analizy oraz wyciagnięcie wniosków na temat kierunku rozwoju 18 Dywizji Zmechanizowanej oraz jej znaczenia strategicznego w ramach bezpieczeństwa Polski i społeczności międzynarodowej.

The aim of this diploma thesis is to present the process of formation of the 18th Mechanized Division as a tactical divisions of the Polish Army, based on a new model of the structure of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland, as well as an analysis of the possible impact on state security and strategic importance in this region. The analysis is based on the information contained in the work, which relates to different areas and issues related to the functioning of the armed forces. Reasons for establishing a new division in the east of the country, risks and reasons for this decision. Presentation of the structure of the new division, highlighting existing and formed units and their characteristics and armaments. Objectives and tasks assigned to the Polish Army and the 18th Mechanized Division as part of the Polish Armed Forces in the field of fulfilment of obligations on the territory of the State and in the context of international co-operation. The development perspective of the new division and the related plans for the expansion and modernization of the Polish Army, as well as the problems and disadvantages and risks arising from the decisions taken. The descriptive part is mainly based on online sources, as the development process is not yet complete, as well as available bibliography, scientific articles and documents provided by the Government of the Republic of Poland. The aim of the diploma thesisis to analyse and draw conclusions about the development of the 18th Mechanized Division and its strategic importance in the context of the security of Poland and the international community.
