HEDGE FUNDS AS A FORM OF ALTERNATIVE INVESTMENT IN FINANCIAL MARKETS

Niniejsza praca koncentruje się na zdefiniowaniu pojęcia hedgingu oraz analizie inwestowania w fundusze hedgingowe, szczególnie poprzez stosowania strategii inwestycyjnych oraz wykorzystanie mechanizmu dźwigni finansowej i narzędzi inwestycyjnych w celu osiągnięcia zysku. Celem pracy jest przedstawienie danych dotyczących rynku globalnego i europejskiego z uwzględnieniem perspektyw rozwoju na polskim rynku kapitałowym. W ramach pracy przeprowadzono również analizę różnych strategii inwestycyjnych, które wykazały najlepsze wyniki, takie jak Global Macro, Multi Strategy, Emerging Markets, Long/Short Equity, Event Driven, Convertible Arbitrage i Fixed Income Arbitrage.

This thesis focuses on defining the concept of hedging and analyzing investing in hedge funds, particularly through the application of investment strategies and the use of leverage and investment tools to achieve profit. The aim of the thesis is to present data on the global and European market, taking into account the prospects for development in the Polish capital market. The thesis also analyses various investment strategies that have shown the best results, such as Global Macro, Multi Strategy, Emerging Markets, Long/Short Equity, Event Driven, Convertible Arbitrage and Fixed Income Arbitrage.
