Celem pracy jest przyjrzenie się sposobom obrazowania seksualności w twórczości Paula Verhoevena na przykładzie trzech jego filmów: "Biznes to biznes" (1971), "Nagi Instynkt" (1992) i "Showgirls" (1995). Analizując sceny nacechowane erotycznie, skupiam się na ich aspekcie performatywnym: jak bohaterowie odgrywają pewne role, ustawiają się na symbolicznych scenach i wykorzystują seks jako narzędzie do poprawy swojego losu.
The aim of the thesis was to reflect on the imagery of human sexuality in Paul Verhoeven's films, on example of "Diary of the Hooker" (1971), "Basic Instinct" (1992) and "Showgirls" (1995). During the analysis of scenes highlighted with erotic tension I am using methodology distinctive for performance studies. I focus on characters playing different roles, making up symbolic stages and using sex as a tool, to improve their lifes.
