Leadership in the VUCA era. Case study of an IT company.

W dobie globalizacji i postępu technologicznego, środowisko biznesowe ewoluuje w tempie niespotykanym dotąd, co skutkuje pojawieniem się terminu VUCA – Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity i Ambiguity. Te wyzwania stają się szczególnie palące dla branży technologicznej, gdzie potrzeba adaptacji do ciągle zmieniającego się rynku jest kluczowa dla sukcesu. Niniejsza praca magisterska analizuje rolę przywództwa w poruszaniu się w erze VUCA na przykładzie VRP Consulting w Polsce. Poprzez pogłębiony wywiad z Dyrektorem Zarządzającym, ankiety wśród pracowników i obserwacje autorki, praca ta bada strategie przywództwa stosowane w obliczu takich wyzwań, jak pandemia COVID-19 i zawirowania polityczne. Wyniki sugerują, że skuteczne przywództwo odgrywa kluczową rolę w radzeniu sobie z wyzwaniami VUCA, przyczyniając się do wzrostu, zaangażowania pracowników i innowacyjności. Wnioski z pracy dostarczają cennych wskazówek dla firm IT, dążących do sukcesu w skomplikowanym środowisku, a także wzbogacają literaturę na temat przywództwa w trudnych czasach.

In the era of globalization and technological progress, the business environment is evolving at an unprecedented pace, resulting in the emergence of the term VUCA - Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity. These challenges become particularly pressing for the technology industry, where the need to adapt to an ever-changing market is crucial to success. This master's thesis examines the role of leadership in navigating the VUCA era using the example of VRP Consulting in Poland. Through an in-depth interview with the Managing Director, employee surveys, and the author's observations, this work examines leadership strategies used in the face of challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and political turmoil. The results suggest that effective leadership plays a key role in addressing VUCA challenges, contributing to growth, employee engagement and innovation. This paper provides valuable tips for IT companies striving for success in a complex environment and enrich the literature on leadership in difficult times.
