A constellation novel. "House of day, house of night”, “Flights”, “Drive your plough over the bones of the dead” by Olga Tokarczuk

Celem pracy: „Powieść konstelacyjna. „Dom dzienny, dom nocny”, „Bieguni”, „Prowadź swój pług przez kości umarłych Olgi Tokarczuk”” jest analiza i interpretacja wymienionych w tytule powieści pod kątem ich konstelacyjności. Pierwsza część pracy prezentuje metodologię – narratologię, jej historię i kształt, w szczególności ujęcie Mieke Bal. Ponadto zostały przedstawione pojęcia: narrator i poziomy narracji, czas i miejsce wydarzeń, postaci, relacje wewnątrz tekstu, jak również tematyczne grupy wątków narracyjnych. Druga część pracy stanowi realizację tematu – składa się z opisu modelu powieści konstelacyjnej, rozważań na temat jej przynależności do nurtu prozy postmodernistycznej, analiz i interpretacji powieści w oparciu o zaprezentowane w pierwszej części pojęcia oraz wielopoziomowego badania ich konstelacyjności.

The aim of the thesis: „A constellation novel. “House of day, house of night”, “Flights”, “Drive your plough over the bones of the dead” by Olga Tokarczuk”” is analysis and interpretation listed in the title of this thesis novels for their constellationality. The first part of the thesis presents: methodology – narratology, its history and shape (especially in Mieke Bal’s conceptualization). Furthermore, following concepts have been presented narrator and levels of narration, time and place of the events, characters, inside text relations as well as thematic groups of threads have been extracted. The second part of this thesis constitutes realization of its title – consists of: description of the constellation novel model, considerations about its affiliation to the postmodern current, analyzes and interpretations of novels based on concepts presented in the first part and multi-level studies of their constellationality.
