Socio-cultural animation of adults. Challenges for a culture animator.

Tematem tej pracy jest animacja kulturalna osób dorosłych oraz wyzwania jakie stoją przed animatorem kultury w tym obszarze w czasach współczesnych. Jest to temat rzadko poruszany w rozważaniach o współczesnym kształcie animacji społeczno-kulturalnej, jednak rozważania jakie poczyniłem w trakcie badania tego tematu wskazują na wieloletnie zorientowanie tego ruchu na osobę dorosłą oraz jej potrzeby w kontekście historii całego ruchu oraz ewolucji idei i instytucji, jaka dokonała się zarówno w Polsce, jak i na świecie. W rozważaniach nad głównym problemem tej pracy postawiłem sobie za cel znalezienie odpowiedzi na pytanie o to, jak wygląda oferta animacji kulturalnej skierowanej do osób dorosłych, a także inne równie istotne kwestie dla rozważań nad tym tematem, jakimi są wspólne obszary aktywności skierowanej do osób dorosłych w obrębie animacji kulturalnej oraz andragogiki; obszary animacji społeczno-kulturalnej, które są przedmiotem rozważań badaczy tej dziedziny; rozwój idei i instytucji animacji społeczno-kulturalnej. W rozważaniach nad tematem tej pracy skupiłem się również na pytaniach o kształt oferty animacji kulturalnej oraz o potencjał dla jej rozwoju w badanym miejscu. Analizę oferty animacji kulturalnej ograniczyłem do miasta Bielska-Białej. Jest to średniej wielkości miasto otoczone pasmami górskimi Beskidów, położone w województwie śląskim, w południowej części kraju. Jest to miasto w którym dynamicznie rozwija się przemysł, biznes i turystyka. Ramy czasowe w jakich zbierałem informacje określiłem na cały rok 2017, to jest od stycznia do grudnia tego roku. Analizie podlegała oferta animacji kulturalnej skierowanej wyłącznie do osób dorosłych, czyli w przedziale wiekowym od 22 do 65 roku życia. Metodą zebrania informacji potrzebnych do analizy oferty są ogólnodostępne dokumenty na temat wydarzeń animacji kulturalnej skierowanej do osób dorosłych. Dzięki tej metodzie nie tylko zebrałem informacje o odbywających się wydarzeniach, ale również mogłem przeanalizować dostępne dla potencjalnego odbiorcy informacje. Największym problemem na jaki natrafiłem w trakcie rozważań nad tematem tej pracy był utrudniony dostęp do informacji na temat oferty animacji skierowanej do osób dorosłych. Część instytucji nie prowadziła ogólnodostępnej dokumentacji związanej z animacją kulturalną, brakowało również rocznych raportów i wcześniejszych analiz dotykających tego zjawiska. Analizę oferty byłem zmuszony ograniczyć do informacji zamieszczonych w miesięczniku wydawanym przez Gminę Bielsko-Biała pod tytułem „Pełna Kultura”, który pełni funkcję informatora wydarzeń kulturalnych odbywających się na terenie Bielska-Białej. Uważam, że animacja kultury skierowana do osób dorosłych jest ważnym elementem w prowadzeniu rozważań nad całością animacji społeczno-kulturalnej i powinna być w większym stopniu tematem do refleksji i badań naukowych.

The subject of this thesis is cultural animation of adults and challenges that a culture animator faces in this area in modern times. This topic is rarely mentioned in the discussion on the contemporary shape of socio-cultural animation, however, the considerations made by the author during the study of this topic indicate its long-term orientation towards adults and their needs in the context of the history of the entire movement and the evolution of ideas and institutions that took place both in Poland and around the world.The goal for the considerations of the given issue was to find an answer to the main question, namely, how does the cultural animation offer directed towards adults look, as well as other issues important for the discussion about the subject of common activity areas directed towards adults in regard to the cultural animation and andragogy; what socio-cultural animation areas are the subject of researchers in this field; the development of ideas and institutions of socio-cultural animation. The focus in this work was also drawn to questions about the shape of the cultural animation offer and its potential in the studied place.The analysis of the cultural animation offer was limited to the city of Bielsko-Biała, which is a medium-sized city, surrounded by the Beskids Mountains, situated in the Silesian Voivodeship, in the southern part of the country. It is a city where industry, business and tourism are developing dynamically, and the time-frame in which data was collected was set for the whole 2017 year, that is from January to December. The analysis covered the offer of cultural animation addressed exclusively to adults, i.e. people between 22 and 65 years of age. The data needed for the analysis of the offer was collected in a form of analysis of public documents regarding the availability of cultural animation events addressed to adults. Thanks to this method, it was not only possible to collect information about the occurring events, but also to analyze access to information available for the potential recipient.The biggest problem that was encountered while deliberating this work subject was the difficult access to information about the offer of animation directed at adults. Some institutions did not keep publicly available documentation related to cultural animation, and there was a lack of annual reports and previous analyses on this phenomenon. The author was forced to limit the analysis of the offer to the information published in the monthly magazine published by the Bielsko-Biała Commune, titled "Pełna Kultura" (Full Culture), which serves as a guide for cultural events taking place in Bielsko-Biała. The author believes that cultural animation for adults is an important element in the consideration of the whole of socio-cultural animation and should be more of a topic for reflection and research.
