W pracy omówiono zagadnienie dotyczące stresu w pracy na przykładzie Państwowej Straży Pożarnej porównując dwie jednostki gaśnicze w Sosnowcu i Bielsku – Białej, w oparciu o literaturę i badania własne. Zawarto czym jest stres jakie są jego przyczyny, skutki i działania zwalczające go. Celem pracy było przedstawienie czym jest w zawodzie strażaka stres, jakie są jego objawy, jak funkcjonariusze sobie z nim radzą, jak wpływa on na życie poza pracą i czy jest zapewniona odpowiednia pomoc psychologiczna. Ponad to zbadano czy takie czynniki jak wielkość miasta, mentalność społeczeństwa wpływa na czynniki stresu.

The study discusses the issue of stress at work on the example of the State Fire Service, comparing two Emergency and Fire-Extinguishing Units in Sosnowiec and Bielsko - Biała, based on the literature and own research. Topics which are included is the definition of stress, what are the causes and effects of stress and what actions can overcome it. The purpose of this study was to present what is stress in the profession of a fireman, what are its symptoms, how do Fire Officers manage it, how it affects the life outside of work and whether adequate psychological help is provided when needed. Furthermore, it was examined if the factors such as the size of the city and society's mentality can affect stress factors.
