This paper discusses various discourses within the "field" of law and technology, from the methodological standpoint. It surveys basic methodological tools for asking good questions and providing innovative answers. It argues that various cognitive mechanisms operating in the human mind are equally significant obstacles to delivering excellent scholarship as using wrong methods for a specific kind of question. Even though the discussion of this paper focuses on law and technology, the "toolbox" we provide might be useful to legal scholars working in other fields.
