The text advances a thesis concerning the possibility of effectively employing anthropological and axiological
assumptions of Gestalt therapy in the educational practice. The author substantiates the thesis by comparing
the goals of psychotherapy and education and by providing the interpretation of the terms that are essential to
both processes. The effect per se is understood as a conscious ability to learn from one’s experience, which in
consequence fosters the process of stabilising a personal identity, including that of an educator.
