The article presents the current state of research into the history of the Cracow Jews. It de-
scribes the results of the studies to date on their history, culture, and heritage. It also discusses
the literature of the subject, divided into several thematic groups (history, society and culture,
religion, economy, education, architecture and urban environment), from the late 19th century
up to the present times. The most significant Polish-language works are presented, including
the monographs, collective works, and the journal articles. Moreover, the author identifies the
thematic gaps thereby pointing to the need of addressing further subjects and intensifying the
research.
