The project discussed in this article was based on the already existing research presented in the monograph titled "A Village Without Solidarity; Polish peasants in years of crisis” by Chris Hann. In the overall image of the village Wislok Wielki dominates stagnation, durability of problems, insecurity of land tenure, lack of development policy and lack of community. In the current restudy I've tried to analyse the situation not only form a different theoretical angle but also
on the basis of a different material, and in fi nally in occured that the ubiquitous "lack” was rather an effect of the theoretical assumptions then empirical material (theory implied "the lack”).
