dc.abstract.en	Searching effective tools for developing, storage, protection, and dissemination of knowledge becomes an important task not only for modern management, but also information science. The article discusses knowledge management defined as realisation of management function in regard to the knowledge process. The author indicates terminology enabling an interdisciplinary approach to knowledge management in regard to information systems. Knowledge is understood as a result of a process of thinking realised on information classes. An analysis approach was used in describing a knowledge process, including the problems of development, transfer, and transition of knowledge. Significance of adequate knowledge management systems is underlined.	pl
