abstract in English:
Research objective: discussion of the narrativity in fictional biographies.
The research problem and methods: analysis of the biographical narrative: studying the ways in which a biographical narratives functions withing the fictional framework. Verification of Agata Bielik - Robson’s hypothesis of trauma - concealing characteristic of the narrative that confronts the self with a temporal plane. The process of argumentation: Łebkowska’s model of biographical narrative in fiction will be confronted, accordingly, with a selection of texts of culture that reflect the chosen problem, that is: (1) biographies of fictional artits; (2) histories of fictional biographers; (3) "speaker for the dead|" trope; and (4) the narrative and the course of life. Analysis of their content has shown that these stories tell also about the trauma of mortality and fear of losing control over their own biography.
Research results: the paper will provide a thorough study of fictional biographies, alongside with establishing a typology of biographical narratives. Conclusions, innovations, and recommendation: increasing interest in fictional biographism, encourages taking a closer look at narrative mechanisms functioning in analysed texts of culture. Studying and compartmentalising them not only will deepen the heretofore understanding of the idea of narrative identity, but also will shape new tools for analysing biographies in historiography and culture studies.
