abstract in English:	The rarely used Turkish word şayka ‘a sort of warfare galley’ was supposed to have been borrowed from Hungarian. This author discusses a possibility of some other origin of this Turkish word, as well as its connections with some names of similar marine vessels in the Mediterranean, Balkan and Black Sea area.
