| abstract in English: | The paper presents the outline of research on the natural and degraded parts of Tarnawa Wyżna I raised bog (Bieszczady National Park, Western Bieszczady Mts). The basic organic matter properties (pH, ash content, degree of decomposition) were analyzed. In addition, the analysis of carbon and nitrogen content and optical properties of organic matter (in 0,5M NaOH extracts) was performed for determination of the effect of drainage works (started about 150 years ago) on the chemical properties of soil organic matter accumulated in studied organic soils. The results of research indicated that peat soils in the eastern part of the Tarnawa Wyżna I raised bog were transformed due to drainage and advanced morphological and chemical changes of organic material have been identified, as a result of decession. |
