The discussions about European integration model in 1958-1962 were predominantly associated with ideas of supranational co-operation and proposals of intergovernmental co-operation. The key model of intergovernmental co-operation is the concept of Charles de Gaulle of "Europe of States", which is frequently confused and wrongly identified with the concept "Europe of Homelands". The concept of "Europe of States" was then followed by Christian Fouchet committee, which presented two alternative drafts of a treaty establishing the Union of European Nations, as the organization existing over the European Communities and based on the intergovernmental co-operation. However, such projects was rejected, due to reasons of a political nature, by the rest member states of the European Communities which preferred supranational ideas.pl
