The article centers around the issue of cultural identity and it's methods of endurance
during limit situation (Grenzsituation, a concept developed by Karl Jaspers). As an example, the authores chooses Jewish cultural identity during the time of Holocaust and the study is based on an analysis and interpretation selected non-fiction literary w orks writen by those, who had witnessed the Shoah. Providing various reference material, the authoress proves, that even in the moment of limit situation cultural identity has a strong self-preservation instinct.
