The article discusses a planned comparative study of the works of Witkacy and Wyndham Lewis. The two modernist polymaths, one from the East, the other from the West of Europe, shared the same Zeitgeist, and were subject to similar artistic influences which later energised their creative imagination. At the same time, in their respective milieus, they were perceived as unique personalities, confrontational and swimming against the tide. The text briefly outlines their parallel biographies, and then suggests potential research areas which can be comparatively explored.
