Among the vast range of themes that make up the field of poetic musicology there is a whole division dedicated to the tracing of the creator’s lasting presence in his work (the creator can mean here both the composer and the performer). The matter admits of a number of approaches, not least of the spiritualist metaphorics. This article tries to outline the interrelations between spiritualism, ontological reflection and the effects of music by analyzing an assortment of poems and other texts by Maria Pawlikowska-Jasnorzewska, Konstanty Ildefons Gałczyński and Jarosław Marek Rymkiewicz.
