abstract in English:
The synonymy is a phenomenon that was established already in the Classical Times. Since then the philosophers and linguists have attempted to provide an adequate definition of the term and to ascertain whether the absolute synonymy is possible in the language. A majority of experts opt for the existence of the partial synonymy that refers to the possibility of exchanging synonymous words only in some contexts. They also emphasize on the fact that these lexemes have different connotations. The present article tries to prove that this phenomenon exists in the language. Nevertheless, its application is restricted to three groups of language users: the specialists who use technical language, the children who acquire their mother tongue and the people who learn foreign languages.
