Autor w artykule opisuje nieznany fragment biografii prof. Stefana Szumana (1889-1972), doktora medycyny, od maja 1919 r. - kapitana Wojska Polskiego (od sierpnia 1920 - majora WP), dotyczący lat 1919-1921. Stefan Szuman jako lekarz wojskowy (kapitan-chirurg) Wojska Polskiego walczył w obronie niepodległości II Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej. W artykule opisano jego szlak wojenny jako szefa wojskowego szpitala polowego (nr 707 i nr 708) podczas wojny polsko-bolszewickiej (1918-1921), który obejmuje następujące miasta lub tereny: Toruń, Wielopolska, Inowrocław, Poznań, Litwa, Białoruś, Grodno, Wilno, Mińsk, Warszawa, Modlin. Szuman był oficerem 3. Pułku Strzelców Wielkopolskich, uczestniczył w bitwie warszawskiej (VIII 1920) oraz w bitwie nad Niemnem (IX-X 1920) przeciwko bolszewickiej Rosji. Przeszedł do cywila w styczniu 1922 r. |

The author in the article describes the unknown fragment of prof. Stefan Szuman's biography (1889-1972), a doctor of medicine, who was since May 1919 a captain of the Polish Army and who was since August 1920 a major of Polish Army. The text concerns the years 1919-1921. Stefan Szuman as a medical officer (a surgeon-captain) of Polish Army fighted in defence for independence of the Polish Republic II (Second Republic of Poland). In the paper there is described his combat trail, when he was the chief of mobile war hospital (No. 707 and No. 708) during Polish-Bolshevik war (1918-1921). His war route includes the next towns or areas: Torun, Wielkopolska, Inowroclaw, Poznan, Lithuania, Belarus, Grodno, Vilnius, Minsk, Warsaw, Modlin. Szuman was the officer of the 3. Regiment of Shooters from Wielkopolska (Great Poland). He participated in Warsaw battle in August 1920 and in the battle at Niemen river (September and October 1920) against the Bolshevik Russia. He became the civilian in January 1922. |
