Zjawisko cyfrowego wykluczenia seniorów pojawiło się i zaczęło nasilać na skutek rozwoju nowoczesnych technologii. Seniorzy jednak coraz częściej rozumieją potrzebę likwidowania cyfrowych barier poprzez uczestnictwo w różnego rodzaju kursach komputerowych, jakie są oferowane przez uniwersytety trzeciego wieku. Artykuł jest próbą odpowiedzi na pytanie o potrzeby i kompetencje seniorów w zakresie korzystania z nowoczesnych technologii, szczególnie internetu i urządzeń przenośnych. Składa się z pięciu części: wstępu teoretycznego na temat cyfrowego wykluczenia, kompetencji, uniwersytetów trzeciego wieku, wyników badań ankietowych i propozycji treści, które powinny znaleźć swoje miejsce w programach kursów i stanowić odpowiedź na potrzeby rozwijania kompetencji seniorów.

Development and distribution of computer technologies introduced into our societies the digital exclusion of senior citizens. However, more and more seniors feel the need to gain digital literacy in order to enter the digital world. Wide range of various computer courses organized at the Universities of the Third Age help them to achieve the needed set of skills. The paper examines the digital needs and literacy of seniors. The theoretical introduction presents concepts of digital exclusion, digital literacies and Universities of the Third Age. Second part discusses results of a survey conducted at one of the workshops. As a summary the authors propose a thematic categorization of the digital literacy related content that would correspond to senior needs and could be taught at an University of the Third Age.
