W latach 2009-2010 przeprowadzono inwentaryzację płazów krakowskiego użytku ekologicznego „Staw Dąbski”. Jej celem było określenie składu i liczebności żyjących tam gatunków, porównanie aktualnych danych z wcześniejszymi oraz ustalenie zagrożeń. Na badanym terenie stwierdzono następujące gatunki płazów: ropucha szara Bufo bufo, żaba trawna Rana temporaria, żaba śmieszka Pelophylax ridibundus i żaba wodna P. esculentus. Najliczniej występowała ropucha szara, której populacja jest silnie narażona na wyginięcie z powodu wzmożonego ruchu ulicznego w sąsiedztwie stawu. Porównanie wyników z danymi z lat 1988-2001 wskazuje na postępujący spadek liczby gatunków oraz liczebności w ich obrębie.

In the years 2009-2010 an inventory of the amphibian fauna associated with the Cracow Dąbski Pond was undertaken. The objective was to describe the status of amphibian species by comparing previous information with the collected data on the composition and abundance of species and to identify current threats. Species inhabiting the site include: the common toad Bufo bufo, the common frog Rana temporaria, the marsh frog Pelophylax ridibundus and the edible frog Pelophylax esculentus. The common toad is the most abundant species, which until recently has been highly threatened by traffic (Table 1). The comparison of current results with the historical data indicates a decrease in the abundance and diversity of amphibian species.
