dc.abstract.pl Celem niniejszej pracy jest zbadanie Opowieści zimowej Williama Szekspira w odniesieniu do wiedzy historycznej dotyczącej percepcji kobiet w okresie renesansu oraz porównanie tejże sztuki z jej współczesną reinterpretacją autorstwa Jeanette Winterson, powieścią Przepaść czasu. Badanie skupia się na przedstawieniu postaci kobiecych w obu dziełach w nawiązaniu do pojęć kobiecości i patriarchatu. Część teoretyczna stanowi dwa rozdziały. Rozdział pierwszy służy jako tło historyczne dla części analitycznej. Wyjaśnia pochodzenie patriarchalnego poglądu na temat społecznej niższości kobiet i opisuje ich szesnastowieczne życie od urodzenia do zamążpójścia włącznie. Z kolei drugi rozdział przedstawia pokrótce dane utwory literackie w odniesieniu do ich gatunków, źródeł czy konstrukcji literackiej. Następnie praca przechodzi do części analitycznej, a rozdział trzeci koncentruje się na postaciach Hermiony i MiMi. Bada on przedstawienie kobiecości w kontekście mowy i cielesności, macierzyństwa, a także małżeńskich zmagań z zagadnieniem intymności. Ponadto zawiera analizę żeńskiej reakcji na doświadczenie traumy. Rozdział czwarty oferuje spojrzenie na postaci Pauliny i Pauline, skupiając się na kobiecej aktywności jak i wpływie kobiecego języka na kształtowanie rzeczywistości. Zwraca uwagę na zróżnicowane role, jakie powyższe postacie przyjmują w celu przewartościowania postrzegania kobiet przez mężczyzn. Sekcja dotyczy również aspektów związanych z małżeństwem, majątkiem czy dyskryminacją ze względu na płeć. Rozdział piąty zawiera analizę Perdity i Perdity. Zgłębia tematykę doświadczenia porzucenia i adopcji, edukacji i relacji romantycznych. Dodatkowo porusza temat charakterystycznych dla patriarchatu aspektów, takich jak znaczenie hierarchii, rodowodu, przedmałżeńskiej czystości czy kobiecej płodności. Ostatnia część pracy podsumowuje wnioski dotyczące omawianej problematyki. pl
dc.abstract.en The thesis aims to examine William Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale with regard to the historical knowledge concerning the Renaissance perception of women and compare the play with its modern reinterpretation by Jeanette Winterson, the novel The Gap of Time. The research paper focuses on the two portrayals of female characters in relation to the concepts of femininity and patriarchy. The theoretical part consists of two chapters. The first chapter serves as historical background. It explains the roots of the patriarchal notion of female social inferiority and describes the life of sixteenth-century women from birth to marriage inclusively. The second chapter, in turn, briefly introduces the literary works concerning their genres, sources, or literary construction. Subsequently, the thesis proceeds to the analytical part and the third chapter concentrates on the characters of Hermione and MiMi. It investigates the portrayals of femininity in the context of body and speech, motherhood and marital struggles with intimacy. Furthermore, the study provides an analysis of the female response to the experience of trauma. The fourth chapter examines the characters of Paulina and Pauline, focusing on female agency and the influence of the female tongue on shaping reality. It draws attention to the various roles the characters adopt to contribute to the male re-evaluation of the perception of women. The section also addresses the aspects of marriage, property or gender discrimination. The fifth chapter carries out the research on Perdita and Perdita. It explores the experience of abandonment and adoption, education and romantic relationships. In addition, it covers the subject of patriarchal-distinctive aspects, such as the significance of hierarchy, lineage, chastity or female fertility. The last section of the thesis summarises the results relating to the discussed issues. pl
