The purpose of this article is to present the importance of neoliberal ideology in American political discourse during the presidencies of Ronald Regan, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. Hence, this article focuses on both the theoretical analysis of the indicated perspective and the practical adaptation of neoliberalism in the context of United States socio-economic policy. These considerations underline that neoliberal concepts and ideas are used in different dimensions at various points in history. In particular, they relate to internal monetary and fiscal policy, but also find application in American foreign policy. Hence the theoretical orientation of the article refers to both the theory of economic sciences and the theory of international relations. These issues were developed using the methods of political science: comparative, historical and systemic.
