dc.abstract.pl W literaturze ekonomicznej często porusza się teoretyczny aspekt konkurencyjności, lecz poza kilkoma instytucjami naukowo-biznesowymi, rzadko kiedy analizowana jest pozycja międzynarodowa całych gospodarek narodowych. Pomimo swoich niewielkich rozmiarów i niekorzystnego ukształtowania topograficznego, Niderlandy stanowią obecnie jedno z najbardziej konkurencyjnych krajów na świecie, zaś Amsterdam uznaje się niekiedy za miasto globalne. Celem niniejszej pracy jest określenie, jakie czynniki wpłynęły i dalej wpływają na status tego państwa na tle reszty krajów świata oraz jaką rolę odgrywa jego stolica w tworzeniu transnarodowej sieci powiązań gospodarczych. pl
dc.abstract.en The theoretical aspect of competitiveness is often discussed in economic literature, but apart from a few scientific and business institutions, the international position of entire national economies is rarely analysed. Despite its small size and unfavorable topography, the Netherlands is now one of the most competitive countries in the world, and Amsterdam is sometimes considered a global city. The aim of this paper is to determine what factors have influenced and continue to influence the status of this country in relation to the rest of the world and what role its capital performs in the creation of a transnational network of economic relations. pl
