| abstract in English: | The article focuses on the motifs of mercy in the Romantic literature written by the minorum gentium poets in Kraków. The group is represented by Anna Libera, Adam Gorczyński i Władysław Ludwik Anczyc who drew inspiration mostly from the works of Adam Mickiewicz. Not only did they adapt his versification pattern but they also shared his attitude toward the problem of mercy. By means of referring to the popular axiology postulating that mercy is an indispensable element in the human world the Romantic literature introduced such themes as the necessity to forgive people, to feel empathy for others, to help them. Moreover, the problem of the relationship between the court and the peasantry after the Galician Slaughter should also be considered in this context. |
