Tematem omawianym w przedstawionej pracy jest analiza wpływu przemian dokonujących się w Chinach od początku dynastii Qing (1644-1912) do drugiej dekady XXI wieku na tożsamość etniczną Mandżurów oraz ich dziedzictwo kulturowe. Niniejsza praca została podzielona na trzy rozdziały. W części pierwszej zostają omówione najważniejsze zagadnienia teoretyczne wokół których oscyluje treść pracy, takich jak naród, grupa etniczna, tożsamość, asymilacja oraz akulturacja. Rozdział drugi ma na celu przedstawienie w zarysie zmian, jakie dokonywały się w języku oraz kulturze Mandżurów podczas panowania dynastii mandżurskiej oraz działanie podejmowane przez władców dynastii Qing mające na celu ochronę mandżurskiego dziedzictwa kulturowego oraz powstrzymanie postępującej akulturacji z Hanami. W ostatnim rozdziale zostały omówione losy Mandżurów po upadku dynastii Qing oraz wpływ nowych realiów na zachowanie ich rodzimego dziedzictwa.

The main object of this bachelor’s thesis is to analyze how the ethnic identity of Manchus and their cultural heritage has been affected by the socio-political changes occurring in China from the Qing dynasty to the second decade of the 21st century. The thesis consists of three chapters. The first one focuses on the theoretical framework of this paper. The second chapter briefly sums up the changes which the Manchu culture underwent during the Qing dynasty rule and the steps that the Manchu royal court had made to prevent the progressing sinicization. Lastly, the third chapter aims to analyze the situation of Manchus after the fall of the dynastic rule at the beginning of 20th century. The later part of this chapter gives an overview of ways in which the Manchus attempt to preserve or restore parts of their native heritage that are still endangered as a result of the gradual acculturation of the Manchus with the Han majority.
