Niniejsza praca magisterska przedstawia teorię dotyczącą (1) autonomicznych zachowań uczniów języka obcego oraz (2) użycia platformy storify.com w uczeniu się języka angielskiego. Celem tej pracy jest przeanalizowanie wykorzystania technologii, precyzyjniej narzędzia komunikacji wspomaganej komputerowo, storify.com, na rozwój zachowań autonomicznych oraz sprawdzenie czy rzeczywiście wyżej wymienione narzędzie zmieni postrzeganie uczniów dotyczące użycia technologii w nauce języka angielskiego. Sekcja teoretyczna zaznajamia czytelnika z definicją autonomii. Jej różnorodne aspekty zostały zaprezentowane wraz z charakterystycznymi cechami uczniów autonomicznych, sposobem wspierania promowania oraz rozwoju autonomii. Ta sekcja również skupia się na technologii, która znajduje wykorzystanie w nauce języka obcego. Opisane są zalety oraz potencjał technologii storify.com. Część teoretyczna jest podstawą do analizy przeprowadzonego badania, opisanego już w sekcji empirycznej. Sekcja empiryczna ukazuje szczegółowy opis badania, dwa główne pytania badawcze, narzędzia badawcze, opis badanych oraz procedurę badania. Przedstawiona została również dokładna analiza wyników, podzielona wg pytań badawczych. Okazuje się, że użycie storify.com przyczyniło się do rozwoju zachowań autonomicznych uczniów, rozumianych w pracy: odpowiedzialność za proces uczenia się, świadomość ograniczonego czasu, oraz chęć do poszukiwania dodatkowych materiałów. Jeśli chodzi o spostrzeżenia uczniów dotyczące nauki 53 języka angielskiego poprzez wykorzystanie technologii, te również uległy pozytywnej zmianie. Okazuje się, że po zakończonym projekcie z użyciem ww. narzędzia uczniowie mieli bardziej entuzjastyczne podejście do korzystania z technologii podczas nauki języka angielskiego oraz, że 100 % badanych zdeklarowało chęć do użycia narzędzia w najbliższym czasie. Sekcja empiryczna zakończona jest dyskusją dotyczącą wyników badania, jego ograniczeniami oraz możliwymi sugestiami na przyszłość. Podsumowując, przedstawione badanie oraz analizy danych z kwestionariuszy wypełnionych przez badanych ujawniają, że rzeczywiście wykorzystanie technologii wpływa na rozwój i promowanie zachowań autonomicznych.

This paper provided information connected to the topic of foreign language learners‟ autonomous behaviors and the use of technology, precisely storify.com, a computer-mediated communication tool. The aim of this paper was to analyze the use of technology, specifically storify.com on the development of autonomy and to check whether the use of the aforementioned tool may change the perceptions of studying the English language. The theoretical section introduces readers to the definition of autonomy. Its various dimensions have been presented along with the features and characteristics of autonomous learners, and the way autonomy may be supported, promoted and developed. This section focuses also on the use of technology in foreign language learning. The advantages and potential for the use of technology in English language learning and the benefits of using storify.com in particular have been described. Generally, the aforementioned section laid a foundation for the analysis of the study conducted in the second, empirical, section of this paper. The empirical section shows a detailed description of the study, the main two research questions, terms, research tools, description of the participants and the research procedure. The analysis of data of the study is divided according to the two research questions. It clearly shows that the use of storify.com, a computer-mediated communication tool, contributes to autonomous behaviors of learners. By a widely understood term „autonomous behaviors‟, there are three aspects of autonomy taken 51 into consideration, namely (1) responsibility for the learning process, (2) awareness of time limitation as well as (3) willingness to look for additional materials. If it comes to the perceptions of the students of the learning English through the use of technology, these also changed. It turned out that after the project with the use of the computer-mediated communication tool, the learners were more positive about the use of technology in studying English. Moreover, 100% of them declared that they are willing to use it again in the near future. The empirical section ends with the discussion, results of the study, its limitations as well as suggestions for the future research. All things considered, the study and analysis of data provided from questionnaires filled in by the subjects, revealed that indeed the use of technology has not only facilitated the development and promotion of autonomous behaviors, but also positively changed perceptions of the use of technology in foreign language learning, and fostered motivation to use it again in the near future.
