Atrybucja autorska tekstu to identyfikowanie jego autora, najczęściej na podstawie wartości cech stylometrycznych (ilościowych opisów stylu literackiego) jego tekstów. Opiera się na założeniu o istnieniu „odcisku palca autora” – unikatowego dla każdego pisarza sposobu posługiwania się językiem dostrzegalnego w jego twórczości. Liczne eksperymenty komputerowe potwierdzają tę hipotezę, lecz pomimo tych sukcesów dotychczas nie są prowadzone badania nad dokonywaniem atrybucji autorskiej przez ludzi. W tej pracy rozważa się perspektywy prowadzenia takowych na gruncie kognitywistyki.Najpierw przedstawia się współczesne metody komputerowe służące do rozwiązywania problemów atrybucji autorskiej, a następnie przechodzi się do określenia podstaw teoretycznych i metodologicznych dla ewentualnych przyszłych badań z udziałem ludzi. Przyjmuje się przy tym podejście „niskopoziomowe” – wychodzące od budowy oka i ruchów gałek ocznych w trakcie czytania. W dalszej części proponuje się eksperymenty eksploracyjne inspirowane metodami komputerowymi mające stanowić punkt wyjścia dla dalszych badań oraz rozważa się wykorzystanie okulografii (śledzenia ruchów gałek ocznych) i neuroobrazowania w tychże badaniach.

Text's authorship attribution is identifying the author of a given piece of text basing mainly on the values of its stylometric features – quantitative descriptions of a literary style. It assumes the existence of a unique pattern of language usage, constant within all writings of the same person (“author's fingerprint”). Numerous computer experiments confirm this hypothesis. Despite these successes, no research involving humans has been conducted so far. This paper considers possible ways of conducting it seen from the perspective of cognitive science.At the beginning contemporary computer methods of solving authorship attribution problems are presented. They are followed by speculations about theoretical and methodological basis of research on authorship attribution performed by humans. A “low-level” approach is adopted – eye's anatomy and eyeball movements are the starting point. Next parts propose exploratory experiments inspired by computer methods as a basis for the further research. The paper is concluded with remarks about a possible usage of eye tracking (oculography) and neuroimaging methods in it.
