This thesis is divided into seven big chapters. The first one explains the role of dative as a grammatical case and includes a register of verbs, adjectives and nouns, which are used with dative. The following point gives a description, how the dative-forms should be formed. The third chapter is devoted to the differences between the obligatory dative-objects and the objects which in German grammar are known as “freie Dative”, eng. Free datives. The author describes in small chapters six types of this grammatical phenomenon. The fifth point deals with the role of dative in passive-clauses. The last analytical chapter describes that the dative is more and more frequently used in situations, which are commonly associated with the use of genitive case. The thesis ends with the summary of information, which was expressed in all chapters. |
