abstract in Polish:	Niniejsza praca dotyczy bohatera starotestamentowego przekazu o Samsonie i jego licznych przekształceń w literaturze, muzyce oraz kinie od czasów dawnych do współczesności. Uwaga przydziela się niejednoznaczności tej biblijnej postaci i jej dziejów, ewolucji bohatera w literaturze i sztuce Europy, USA oraz Rosji oraz stopniu powodzenia owych utworów i ewentualne jego przyczyny.
abstract in English:	The work concerns the transmission of the Old Testament's hero Samson and its many transformations in literature, music and cinema (from ancient times to the present day). Attention is allocated to the ambivalence of this biblical character and its history, to the evolution of the hero in literature and art in Europe, USA and Russia, to success's degree of these works and possibly its causes
