| abstract in Polish: | Praca magisterska poświęcona jest w całości powieści Michela Butora, zatytułowanej „Przemiana”. „Przemiana”, to powieść napisana w drugiej osobie, ukazująca transformację głównego bohatera Léona Delmonta, w trakcie podróży z Paryża do Rzymu. Wprowadzenie do pracy stanowi biografia pisarza, po której następuje analiza jego powieści. Druga część pracy dotyczy problematyki narracji. Użycie drugiej osoby nie jest przypadkowe, gdyż ukrywa monolog wewnętrzny. Następnie analizowana jest przestrzeń i czas, które są nierozłącznymi elementami, ułatwiającymi głównemu bohaterowi proces przemiany. W dalszej części pracy mowa jest o trzech poziomach na których toczy się akcja powieści, są to : teraźniejszość, przeszłość wraz z wspomnieniami bohatera oraz przyszłość, będąca antycypacją. Na świat przedstawiony w powieści składają się również obiekty, mające duże znaczenie symboliczne. |
| abstract in English: | In my thesis I focus on Michel Butor’s novel entitled Second Thoughts. Second Thoughts is a novel written in second- person narration and it shows the transformation of the main character Leon Delmont during his trip from Paris to Rome. The introduction contains the author’s biography followed by the analysis of his novel. In the second part of my project I concentrate on the topic of narration. The use of this narrative technique is not a coincidence because it contains an internal monologue. Time and space (as inseparable elements connected with the main character’s change) are also analyzed. Further, I focus on the three levels of action of the novel: the present, the past and the main character’s memories, and the future which has also the function of anticipation. Different objects presented in the novel influence the world and have significant, symbolic meaning. |
| abstract in other languages: | La mémoire est consacré en entier à l’univers représenté dans le roman de Michel Butor, intitulé La Modification. La particularité narrative la plus célèbre de La Modification reste l'emploi de la seconde personne du pluriel, qui cache le monologue intérieur, ce qui est présenté dans la deuxième partie du travail. La première partie contient la biographie de l’écrivain. Par la suite l’étude porte sur l’analyse du roman. Ensuite, on analyse l’espace et le temps, qui sont des éléments inséparables et qui facilitent la transformation du protagoniste. Par la suite on différencie trois niveaux dont se passe l’action. C’est le présent romanesque, le passé avec des souvenirs du protagoniste et le futur, qui est une anticipation. La fin du mémoire est consacré à la symbolique des objets qui apparaissent dans La Modification, au cours du trajet Paris-Rome, effectué par Léon Delmont. |
