| abstract in Polish: | Celem niniejszej pracy jest analiza strategii tłumaczeniowych, opisanie problemów tłumaczeniowych humoru oraz ocena możliwości przełożenia humoru w amerykańskim serialu telewizyjnym How I met your mother na język niemiecki za pomocą dubbingu. W części teoretycznej zostaną omówione m.in. funkcje kulturowe humoru, problem nieprzekładalności humoru, strategie i techniki wykorzystywane w tłumaczeniu audiowizualnym. W części praktycznej zostanie dokonana analiza elementów humorystycznych zawartych w niemieckiej wersji serialu How I met your mother. Porównanie elementów humorystycznych angielskiej wersji językowej z niemiecką udzieli odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy transfer humoru jest możliwy pomimo różnic kulturowych i językowych w przekładzie audiowizualnym. |
| abstract in English: | The objectives of this M.A. thesis are to describe problems with translatability of humor in audiovisual translation, investigate translation strategies, and assess the possibility of humor translation on the basis of the German dubbed version of the American sitcom How I met your mother. The theoretical part will discuss among others the cultural specifications of humor, the problem of untranslatability, strategies and techniques applied in humor translation in dubbing productions. The practical part will focus on the analysis of humorous elements in the German dubbed version of How I met your mother. The comparison of humorous elements in the English version with their German equivalents will provide the answer to the question if transfer of humor in audiovisual translation is possible despite cultural and linguistic differences. |
