| abstract in Polish: | Celem niniejszej pracy jest przedstawienie w ogólnym zarysie problemu Jerozolimy na tle konfliktu izraelsko - palestyńskiego w latach 1967-2004. Autorce zależało na tym, aby przedstawić nie tylko polityczne i religijne, ale również społeczne i kulturowe znaczenie miasta. Rok 1967 był szczególny w dziejach Jerozolimy. Po kilkusetletnim arabskim panowaniu nad Starym Miastem, izraelskie zwycięstwo w wojnie sześciodniowej spowodowało, iż Wschodnia Jerozolima została przyłączona do Izraela. Nie mogący się z tym pogodzić Arabowie, za wszelką cenę i różnymi metodami po dziś dzień próbują ustanowić wschodnią część miasta stolicą państwa palestyńskiego. Konflikt izraelsko-palestyński do roku 2004 zmieniał swe oblicza. Nieraz obie strony starały się go rozwiązać siłowymi metodami, ale w okresie pomiędzy pierwszą a drugą intifadą mówimy, że był to czas procesu pokojowego. Próby te zakończyły się jednak niepowodzeniem i w konsekwencji wybuchem drugiej intifady. Rok 2004 jest istotny z dwóch powodów. Po pierwsze fala powstania dogasała i rozpoczęto po raz kolejny rozmowy mające doprowadzić do pokoju pomiędzy stronami. Po drugie w 2004 roku zmarł Jaser Arafat, palestyński przywódca, którego śmierć niosła ze sobą nadzieje na rozwiązanie konfliktu. Pierwszy rozdział pracy opisuje historię konfliktu pomiędzy Żydami a Arabami, wskazując Jerozolimę jako jedną z głównych przyczyn. W drugim rozdziale autorka skupia się na opisaniu życia w Świętym Mieście przed 1967 rokiem oraz po wojnie sześciodniowej. Trzeci rozdział to analiza konfliktu po 1980 roku. Poruszane są zagadnienia takie jak: wojna libańska, pierwsza intifada, proces pokojowy oraz druga intifada. Rozdział czwarty traktuje kolejno o statusie Jerozolimy, życiu w terrorze oraz porusza społeczne aspekty w oparciu o artykuły wychodzące w Gazecie Wyborczej. |
| abstract in English: | This thesis presents an overview of the problem of Jerusalem against the Israeli - Palestinian conflict in the years 1967-2004. The author wanted the order to present not only the political and religious, but also social and cultural importance of the city. 1967 was a special year in the history of Jerusalem. After a centuries-old Arab domination of the Old Town, the Israeli victory in the Six Day War resulted in that East Jerusalem was annexed to Israel. Not likely to accept the Arabs, at all costs, and various methods today are trying to establish the eastern part of the city the capital of a Palestinian state. Israeli-Palestinian conflict by 2004 changed their faces. Sometimes both parties try to resolve it brute force methods, but in the period between the first and second intifada, we say that it was the time of the peace process. These attempts ended in failure and the consequent outbreak of the second intifada. The year 2004 is significant for two reasons. After the first wave of uprising was finishing and started once again talks to bring peace between the parties. Secondly, in 2004, died Yasser Arafat, the Palestinian leader, whose death carried the hopes of a solution to the conflict. The first chapter describes the history of conflict between Jews and Arabs, pointing to Jerusalem as one of the main reasons. In the second chapter the author focuses on describing life in the Holy City before 1967 and after the Six Day War. The third chapter is an analysis of the conflict since 1980. Are dealt with issues such as the Lebanese war, the first Intifada, the peace process and the second intifada. The fourth chapter treats successively the status of Jerusalem, living in terror and addresses the social aspects on the basis of articles coming in Gazeta Wyborcza. |
