Celem niniejszej pracy magisterskiej było zestawienie i porównanie dwóch metod nauczania języka obcego, mianowicie metody gramatyczno-tłumaczeniowej oraz metody komunikatywnej, na przykładzie języka niemieckiego, a także wykazanie zarówno ich zalet jak i wad w procesie nauczania. W pierwszym rozdziale przedstawione zostały ogólne podstawy teoretyczne dotyczące każdej metody nauczania, przyczyny oraz proces ich powstawania. Ukazany został również ich wpływ na kreowanie podręczników. W drugiej części rozdziału zostały przedstawione w skrócie założenia każdej z metod, poczynając od najstarszej czyli gramatyczno-tłumaczeniowej, a kończąc na metodzie komunikatywnej.W drugim rozdziale zostały dokładnie zanalizowane porównywane przeze mnie metody. Uwzględnione zostały m.in. przyczyny ich powstania, główne założenia, cele oraz proces przekazywania umiejętności językowej na podstawie obydwu metod.Następny rozdział to część praktyczna, obejmująca porównanie i zanalizowanie podręczników wzorowanych na obydwu z porównywanych metod. Wykazane zostały przede wszystkim różnice w sposobie przekazywania i nabywania umiejętności językowej.W końcowym rozdziale obydwie metody zostały ze sobą zestawione i porównane. Przedstawione zostały wady i zalety każdej z nich, wpływ na przebieg lekcji języka obcego na przykładzie języka niemieckiego oraz wnioski z analizy podręczników.

The aim of this master’s thesis was to compare two teaching methods of foreign language namely the grammar translation method with communication method on German language example. The aim was also to prove advantages and defects in the teaching process.In the first chapter the general theoretical basics of every teaching method reasons and making process were introduced. It was also shown their influence over making of handbooks. In the second part of chapter were presented assumptions of each method, starting on the oldest grammar translation method and ending on the communication method.In the second chapter the methods were precisely analyzed. Among the other things the reasons for their creation, the main assumptions, the aims and the process of language skills transfer were taken into consideration.The following chapter is the practical part. It includes comparisons and analyzing of textbooks modeled on both considered methods. First of all, the differences in the way of transferring and acquiring language skills were proved.In the last chapter both methods were compared each other. The advantages and defects, the influence over lesson course of a foreign language on German example and conclusions from the analysis of handbooks were shown.

In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird eine Übersicht über die zwei ganz unterschiedlichen Lehrmethoden, Grammatik-Übersetzungsmethode und kommunikative Methode, dargestellt. Es werden sowohl die Grundlagen und Charakteristik der zu vergleichenden Lehrmethoden, ihre Vor- und Nachteile als auch die Anwendung in der Praxis, nämlich im Fremdsprachenunterricht am Beispiel von Deutsch als Fremdsprache veranschaulicht.Zu Beginn der Arbeit werden die theoretischen Grundlagen und Grundbegriffe, die für beiden Methoden relevant sind, dargestellt. Am Anfang wird der Begriff „Methode“ erläutert und dann werden alle Lehrmethoden von der Grammatik-Übersetzungsmethode bis zur kommunikativen Methode kurz besprochen, als Hintergrund für die weitere Analyse.Im zweiten Kapitel werden die zu vergleichenden Methoden ganz genau betrachtet und erklärt. Zuerst werden die Grundsätze der Grammatik-Übersetzungsmethode und dann alle Eigenschaften der kommunikativen Methode analysiert. Im praktischen Teil dieser Arbeit werden die Lehrwerke und ihre Anwendung im Fremdsprachenunterricht behandelt. Es werden Einzelheiten jeweiliger Lehrbücher untersucht und zum Schluss miteinander verglichen. Im letzten Kapitel werden die einzelnen Aspekte von beiden Methoden zusammengestellt und ihre Vor- und Nachteile wiedergegeben.
