AbstractGlobalization of markets is the process which has allowed multinationalcorporations to search the global markets for products and services to allow for theoptimum usage of its resources.Offshore outsourcing has been gaining acceptance among corporations as amainstream alternative to in-house operations. Various studies conducted over the last20 years have shown that outsourcing allows firms to reduce high overhead costs andimprove productivity.In recent years Poland has become an attractive location for the offshoreoutsourcing of services. This study investigates the development and growingimportance of offshore outsourcing for Krakow’s economy and labour market.This study finds evidence for positive benefits of offshore outsourcing for the localeconomy, such as higher level of the employment and an increased tax take for localgovernment.

Wyniki badań wskazują na pozytywne efekty dla lokalnej gospodarki w postaciwzrostu zatrudnienia oraz wzrostu wpływów podatkowych do budetu miasta Krakowa.
