abstract in English:	This thesis is concerned with the songs which appear in Maria Dąbrowska's novel Nights and Days. Its main aim is to identify and analyse ten excerpts from the novel which include songs and, more significantly, to prove their functionality in the literary work. The author of this thesis shows the ways in which musical compositions are interwoven in the plot and she focuses on the circumstances of singing as well as on the performers and the recipients of the music. She interprets the songs and she proves that they may carry new content, create atmosphere, or add to the creation of characters and present their thoughts and reflections in a concise way.
abstract in other languages:	Praca traktuje o pieśniach zawartych w powieści Marii Dąbrowskiej Noce i dnie. Jej celem jest identyfikacja i analiza dziesięciu fragmentów pieśniowych, a przede wszystkim dowiedzenie ich funkcjonalności w dziele. Autorka rozprawy ukazuje sposoby w jaki kompozycje muzyczne zostały wprowadzone w tok fabularny, zwraca uwagę na okoliczności śpiewu, wykonawców oraz odbiorców muzyki, interpretuje pieśni i dowodzi, że mogą one implikować nowe treści, kreować atmosferę, dookreślać charakterystykę bohaterów, w lapidarnej formie prezentować ich refleksje.
