abstract in Polish:	Zielniki zajmują ważną pozycję w nauce i kulturze. Drukowane herbarze, jak i zbiory zasuszonych roślin są cennym źródłem wiedzy przyrodniczej i farmaceutycznej, przedstawiają też wartość historyczną.Przykładem jest zielnik brata Cypriana, najstarszy zachowany na Słowacji zbiór tego typu. Jego autor, kamedulski mnich, żył w XVIII wieku w Czerwonym Klasztorze, położonym w słowackich Pieninach. Pełnił tam rolę lekarza i aptekarza, a także był znakomitym botanikiem. W zielniku zamieścił 283 okazy należące do 260 gatunków. Rośliny zbierał głównie na terenie Tatr i Pienin. W pracy przybliżono 158 gatunków roślin występujących w Pieninach. Monografie obejmują botaniczne opisy roślin, stanowiska w Pieninach, skład chemiczny oraz właściwości surowców. Przedstawiono dawne i współczesne zastosowanie lecznicze i praktyczne ziół, a także dane o ich toksyczności i ochronie gatunkowej. Praca pokazuje, że przez stulecia surowce roślinne stanowiły podstawę kuracji. Mają one interesujące właściwości, co warto dzisiaj wykorzystywać.
abstract in English:	The herbaria play an important role in science and culture. Both the printed herbals and dried plant collections are valuable source of natural and pharmaceutical knowledge, they also have historical value.The herbarium of monk Cyprian, the oldest herbarium in Slovakia, is a good example. The author was a Camedulian monk, who lived in 18th century in the Red Monastery in the Slovakian Pieniny Mountains. Cyprian was physician, apothecary and an excellent botanist. In his herbarium, there are 283 plants, belong to 260 species. Plants was collected mainly in the Tatra and Pieniny Mts.In this thesis 158 species from Pieniny was described. The monographs include botanical descriptions of plants, habitats in Pieniny, chemical composition and plants properties. The old-time and contemporary therapeutic and practical use of herbs, toxicity data and species protection were presented. The thesis shows that over the centuries herbs were the basis of treatment. They have interesting properties, worth today from use.
