dc.abstract.en Both the educational law and the results of international surveys emphasise the importance of parents in the educational process and in the functioning of schools. At the same time, the involvement of parents in the life of Polish schools is often confined to participation in parent-teacher meetings only. The article analyses Polish national-level data collected within school external evaluation in the area of requirement “Parents are school partners”. Despite a relatively high level of meeting that requirement by the evaluated schools, differences in parent involvement at particular educational stages can be seen. There is also a perceptible variety of opinions on the school-parent relation among the responders during the evaluation of groups – on the one hand, the parents only, and, on the other, the school personnel. pl
