abstract in English:	In this report, we aim to provide an overview of the most urgent discussions around the role of SSH in supporting just transitions for carbon intensive regions, with special attention to differences between the eastern and western parts of the European Union (EU). Besides this, we identify potential new fields of study that future research might address. For this purpose, we conducted a literature review, and organised a scoping workshop with a wide range of stakeholders in June 2019. This publication is part of a series of reports on four scoping workshops held in 2019 as part of the EU-funded Horizon 2020 project Energy-SHIFTS. Combined, the insights from these workshops inform future activities within the Energy-SHIFTS project.
