Abstract in English

"One of the key elements of understanding the process of Impact Assessment (IA) in Poland is the legal context, as it creates the institutional frameworks within which entities execute evidence-based legislation policy. Te main aim of this chapter is to outline the normative and institutional background of public policy IA in Poland. Particular attention is devoted to discussing the historical context of evidence-based law-making in Poland, describing the regulations governing IA as well as briefy presenting the institutional mechanisms relating to implementing the IA process."
