abstract in English:	The article confronts historical and traditional witches with their literary counterparts. In the first part of the article the author present a definition of a witch and puts forward three different aspects of witchcraft: practical magic, high magic and witchery as a heresy. In second part three examples of witches in fantasy literature are described: Granny Weatherwax from Terry Pratchett’s "Discworld" series, Hermione Granger from "Harry Potter" series and participants of the witches’ sabbath in Andrzej Sapkowski’s "Narrenturm".
