In the last decade of the twentieth century Russian education began to draw inspiration from the achievements of the eighteenth and nineteenth century institutes for young noble women. It was the response to problems afflicting society in the post-Soviet period: the crisis of family and rapidly growing number of divorces. Those closed-type, female facilities were meant to form useful members of society, able to moderate crude manners of the Russian gentry and prepare a noblewoman to family life.
Among the modern Russian educational institutions there are such which enrich the core curriculum with subjects directed exclusively to female students - ballroom dance, painting, etiquette, psychology of family life and the art of conversation. They allow women to get a good education, to set up their own business, but above all to create a happy family.
