"Media Situation of the Balkans" deals with the idiosyncrasies of the Balkan media. The author proves that the Balkan media undergo a deep structural and financial crisis. As a result, media consumption in this region is encumbered by loads of cheap and trivial information, as the social opinion goes, that is not of any help, rather, it hinders the optimization of people’s political and economic choices. The author argues that politicians, institutions and governmental organizations should be held responsible for this state of affairs as they do not keep the media accurately informed on the current condition of the state and thrive on their vulnerability to fulfill their own, particular purposes.
