Analysis and evaluation of selected social movements in Poland in the 20th and 21st centuries

W niniejszej pracy licencjackiej przeprowadzono analizę oraz ocenę wpływu wybranych ruchów społecznych w Polsce na przestrzeni XX i XXI wieku. W tym celu zdefiniowano to zjawisko oraz odniesiono się do teorii nowych ruchów społecznych, które wywodzą się z ruchów kontestacyjnych mających miejsce w Stanach Zjednoczonych w latach 60, a także dokonano porównania cech charakterystycznych dla starszych i nowych ruchów. Poprzez przedstawienie genezy i warunków rozwoju ruchu solidarnościowego, ekologicznego oraz alterglobalistycznego ukazano i oceniono te ich cechy, które mają wpływ na sferę społeczno-kulturalną oraz sytuację polityczną w Polsce. Omówione zostały również czynniki przyczyniające się do wzrostu zainteresowania danym ruchem oraz rola mobilizacji ludności w osiąganiu przez niego sukcesów. Za pomocą metody analizy treści oraz obserwacji nieuczestniczącej udowodniono, że oddolne inicjatywy mają istotne znaczenie w kwestii kształtowania społeczeństwa obywatelskiego, demokracji oraz są nieodłącznym elementem współczesnej rzeczywistości.

In this thesis was carried out an analysis and evaluation of the impact of selected social movements in Poland over the 20th and 21st centuries. For this purpose, the phemonenon was defined and the theory of new social movements that originated from the protest movements taking place in the United States in the 1960s was referred to, and the characteristics of the older and new movements were compared. By presenting the origins and conditions for the development of the solidarity, environmental and alterglobalist movements, their features that affect the socio-cultural sphere and the political situation in Poland were shown and assessed. The factors contributing to the growth of interest in a movement and the role of mobilization of the population in achieving its successes were also discussed. Using the method of analysis of the contents and non-participatory observation, it has been proved that grassroots initiatives are important in shaping civil society, democracy and are an integral part of contemporary reality.
