Patient care of surgically treated pancreatic tumor

Wstęp: Rak trzustki należy do nowotworów o wyjątkowo złym rokowaniu. Wynika to z występowania mało specyficznych objawów we wczesnym stadium choroby. Ustalając postępowanie lecznicze, istotne znaczenie ma zasięg choroby w chwili rozpoznania. Podstawową metodą leczenia wczesnych postaci tego nowotworu jest radykalna operacja. Cel: Celem pracy było przedstawienie problemów zdrowotnych chorego z rakiem trzustki leczonym chirurgicznie oraz planu i realizacji opieki pielęgniarskiej.Materiały i metody: W pracy posłużono się metodą studium przypadku pacjenta, który był leczony chirurgicznie z powodu guza trzustki. Wyniki i wnioski: Główne dolegliwości jakie towarzyszyły choremu przed rozpoznaniem raka trzustki to: tępy ból zlokalizowany w nadbrzuszu, promieniujący do pleców występujący niezależnie od przyjmowania posiłków i pory dnia, brak apetytu oraz utrata masy ciała. Problemy biologiczne jakie występowały u pacjenta po zabiegu chirurgicznym: ból rany, ryzyko jej zakażenia, utrudnione oddychanie, niedożywienie, nudności oraz wzdęcia brzucha. Przygotowanie do samoopieki obejmowało edukację w zakresie stosowania diety trzustkowej oraz przekazania informacji odnośnie sposobu zażywania leków. Problemy zdrowotne chorego udało się rozwiązać. Zaplanowane czynności leczniczo-pielęgnacyjne zrealizowano w całości. Działania przyniosły zadowalający efekt.

Introduction: Pancreatic cancer is a malignant neoplasm that often has a poor prognosis as the cancer does not cause any significant symptoms early on. Treatment of pancreatic cancer mainly depends on the stage of the cancer. The most common surgical treatment of early pancreatic cancer is a radical surgery. Aim: The aim of this dissertation was to present health problems and an execution of the nursing care plan of a patient diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and treated surgically. Methodology: The research includes scientific conclusions made after therapy of a patient who was given surgical treatment as a result of being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Results and conclusions: The two major ailments the patient was suffering from before being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer were sharp pains in the upper abdomen that radiated to the back and occurred regardless of time and meals consumed by the patient, and a severe loss of weight and appetite. The biological problems that occurred after the surgical treatment included: wound ache, risk of infection, obstructive breathing, malnutrition, nausea and tympanites. The patient was given self-care training, educated on how to diet for pancreatitis, and advised on self-medication. Health problems of the patient were solved, scheduled medical- and nursing-activities were executed entirely, and actions taken produced satisfactory results.
