Examining the relation between the activity of mirror neurons and emotional intelligence

Tematem niniejszej pracy jest wykazanie zależności między aktywnością neuronów lustrzanych a inteligencją emocjonalną człowieka. Cała praca podzielona została na część teoretyczną obejmującą dwa rozdziały oraz na część metodologiczną obejmująca badania, ich opis oraz uzyskane wyniki. Część ta również składa się z dwóch rozdziałów.W pierwszej części czytelnik zostaje wprowadzony w tematykę z zakresu psychologii neurobiologicznej zawierającej opis struktur mózgowych, połączeń nerwowych oraz ich związku z naszymi reakcjami i odczuciami. Głównym pojęciem są tu neurony lustrzane, którym praktycznie w całości poświęcony jest ten rozdział, przybliżający nam równocześnie istotę mechanizmu, zakres funkcji i wielokierunkowość wpływu tych jakże niezwykłych struktur mózgowych. W drugim rozdziale obejmującym psychologię społeczną i emocjonalną, szczegółowo zostało omówione pojęcie inteligencji emocjonalnej, jej komponenty i modele teoretyczne w ujęciu czołowych badaczy tej zdolności, a więc Golemana, Bar-On’a, Saloveya i Mayera.Część druga, czyli metodologiczna przedstawia postawione hipotezy, procedurę badań, charakterystyki badanych grup oraz ogólny proces przebiegu eksperymentu, który miał wykazać istnienie zależności pomiędzy poziomem pobudzenia komórek lustrzanych a poziomem inteligencji emocjonalnej. W ostatnim rozdziale natomiast, szczegółowo omówiono uzyskane podczas badań wyniki.

The theme of this thesis is to show the relation between the activity of mirror neurons and emotional intelligence. All thesis has been divided into a theoretical part comprises two chapters and includes some methodological research, their description and results. This part also consists of two chapters.In the first part the reader is introduced to topics in the field of psychology that describes neurobiological brain structures, neural connections and their relationship with our reactions and feelings. The main concept here are mirror neurons, which almost entirely this chapter is dedicated to, we simultaneously approximates the essence of the mechanism, the range of functions and multi-directional influence of this unusual brain structures. In the second chapter inclusiving social and emotional psychology, has been discussed in detail the concept of emotional intelligence, its components and theoretical models in terms of the leading researchers of this ability, as Goleman, Bar-On and Salovey and Mayer.The second part presents methodological hypothesis, test procedures, the characteristics of the experimental groups, and the general process of the experiment, which job was to prove the existence of relation between the level of activation of mirror cells and the level of emotional intelligence. The last chapter include the results obtained during the tests.
