At the crossroads between political solidarity and economic benefits. European natural gas market and its dependence on the Russian resource supply with a focus on Visegrad Group states’ energy policies in the light of Ukraine crisis.

The thesis of this very document is whether the Visegrad Group can act unanimously and reach a strategic consensus over the principles, objectives and regulatory framework of the natural gas trade with Russia or not. In other words, can the V4 Group represent a homogeneous energy policy, especially in the natural gas market, which is at present dominated by bilateral agreements with Russia. Additionally the thesis is analyzed according to the current geopolitical trends, which in the Central-Eastern European regard are heavily influenced by, among others, the Ukrainian Crisis context, which was already mentioned above.
