Praca pt. „Król Maciuś Pierwszy Janusza Korczaka i Mały Książę Antonie de Saint-Exupèry'ego jako propozycje lekturowe w szkole podstawowej” ma za zadanie potwierdzenie tezy, że obie te lektury mają cechy wspólne. Pierwszy rozdział zawiera informacje dotyczące dzieciństwa oraz dorosłości artystów. Wyróżniono w nim wydarzenia z życia pisarzy, które mogły wywrzeć wpływ na ich twórczość. Biografia każdego z autorów książek została osobno przeanalizowana, a następnie wskazano na ich elementy wspólne. Kolejna część pracy zawiera rozważania dotyczące poszczególnych fragmentów wstępu/dedykacji ze zwróceniem uwagi na techniki, jakie są wykorzystywane przez obu twórców, aby zachęcić młodego i dorosłego czytelnika do przeczytania ich dzieł. Wyjaśniono w niej także, jak stosowane przez autorów metody mają na celu nakłonić odbiorcę do sięgnięcia po publikacje. The paper entitled “King Matt the First by Janusz Korczak and the Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupèry as Required Reading Proposals for Primary School” is aimed at confirming the thesis that both books have common features. The first chapter contains information about the childhood and adult life of both writers. It focuses on events in the writers’ lives that could have exerted an impact on their works. Biographies of both authors are analysed separately; subsequently, their common elements are listed. The next part of the paper presents a discussion pertaining to the individual fragments of the introduction/ dedication with special attention given to the techniques that are used by both authors to encourage the young and adult readers to read the books. It is also explained how the methods used by the authors are aimed at inducing the recipients to reach for the publications. In the second chapter, the author thoroughly analyses the content of the works along with indicating the presence of dual addressees and biographic threads that allow for identifying specific characters with persons present in the lives of their authors. It is also shown how certain fragments could be variously interpreted depending on the reader’s age. The final part of the paper contains an offer of publishing houses and the author's own proposal for organising classes with the use of the required reading. It discusses the skills that the pupils should master during the tasks and the conclusions that they can draw after completing them.
